My Team

Goalkeeper

Nick Pope (5.1m, Brighton at home)

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’ve had Pope in goal for a long time and he’s been an excellent purchase. This week Burnley welcome Brighton, who have been kept at bay in half of the games since the restart so far. Pope is in the running for the Golden Glove (most clean sheets) and is still not as expensive as Henderson, Patricio, and Schmeichel, even though he has outscored all of them.

Defenders

I’m only going for 3 at the back this week because it is fairly normal for the final week to be a goal-fest with a lot fewer clean sheets!

Trent Alexander-Arnold (7.7m, Newcastle away)

TAA is a similar story to Pope. I’ve had him in since week 1. He’s not gone anywhere in 37 weeks and he’s not going anywhere now!

He has blasted past the 200-point mark for the second season running, managing a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s 5-3 goal bonanza against Chelsea, and last season I took him out in my free hit, only for him to score 15 points. He stays.

Aymeric Laporte (6.3m, Norwich at home)

I am hoping Laporte represents a free clean sheet. Norwich has scored 1 goal since the restart and Laporte is Guardiola’s favourite centre back, so surely this will be a case of attack vs defence with him hopefully bagging a goal from a corner.

Erik Pieters (4.3m, Brighton at home)

I’m doubling downing on the Burnley defence, and Pieters is the ideal candidate seeing as he’s playing OOP (out of position) as a left-winger. With any luck, he’ll get another assist to compliment the clean sheet and boost my final score!
