Chelsea’s really leaving a mark and making a statement during the transfer window. Kai Havartz could be joining the Blues very soon.

The team making the most moves to bolster up their squad for the up and coming 2020-2021 campaign appears to be far from done with their work behind the scenes. They are now said to be moving forward with their plans for young-star, Kai Havertz.

The player has been linked with a move to giants, Bayern Munich and some of the big dogs in the Premier League. Besides Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool were said to be interested in signing the German wonderkid.

Now we five games away from the Premier League season being concluded and teams are busy wrapping up the business off the pitch. The Stamford Bridge side has already added Ajax forward, Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker, Timo Werner and appears now to be close to agreeing on a deal for Kai Havertz.

Bayer Leverkusen failed to make the Champions League

More than one boost handed to Lampard in Havartz pursuit. The first lift needed for Chelsea and what the club was waiting to see if Leverkusen qualified for the Champions League. Because they failed to, now Frank Lampard can swarm in and sign the player they’ve been linked to for the past couple of months.

The second lift, Munich’s chief, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, stated there will be too little money to sign the player from rivals Leverkusen, leaving the London side in pole position.

Chelsea’s UCL aspirations are too in doubt as they sit three points away from Man United, who have been the better team since the restart. If they slip up they could be back in the Europa League spot.

However, this may not be enough to stop Kai from joining up with Frank Lampard as reports claim he has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge. Prior to these stories, the fee for the player is the only obstacle to overcome. The two clubs cannot agree on the final valuation of the player’s transfer value. They somewhat off by £20m or so.

What a window they are having, but work must not stop there for them. Their defensive line needs work, the goalkeeper position needs improvement, and a technically gifted defensive midfielder is needed in the middle of the park.

In all honesty, I do not see how Kai Havartz is a priority signing compared to the aforementioned positions being named here. If next season is phase two of the rebuild and nothing major is expected from them, then they are doing the right business.
