After a series of tedious dialogues, Manchester City and Bayern Munich finally agree on transfer terms for Leroy Sane to the Bundesliga champions.

In a bid to fill the void created due to the departure of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, Bayern Munich cited Leroy Sane as the ideal candidate to hold the attacking duties on a long-term basis.

Despite City’s fervent efforts to tie the Germany international to an improved contract extension, the prospect of returning to his homeland and at one of Europe’s elite was too good to turn down for Sane.

Citing the 24-year-old’s desire to relocate, Manchester City marked the price at nearly £90m. To the misfortune of the Cityzens, an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury coupled with a thin contract ending in 2021 ensured that Die Roten got Leroy Sane for just £55m – £45m upfront fee with potential add-ons worth £10m.

At the time of writing this, Leroy Sane landed in Munich with his medical and other formalities to be completed before putting pen to his contract at FC Bayern.

On Sane’s move to Bayern, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wished well for the player who nurtured and developed into a lethal wide forward under his tutelage.

"It looks like it but it is not already done, There are some little issues but it looks like he is going to go to Munich. We wish him all the best and big thanks for our years together. He will have another chapter at a fantastic club in Bayern Munich. He wanted to leave. Everyone has their own life and he decided to move on. I would have loved for him to stay but he believed he would be better and happier there. (via MEN)"

With Leroy Sane’s Man City spell coming to a close, Pep Guardiola would be looking at alternatives to reinforce his attacking options to mount another Premier League challenge next season.
