The man from Bayern Munich, Thiago Alcántara.

Thiago has always been a technically gifted player since when he was playing for Barcelona before joining Bayern Munich back in 2013. The Spaniard is natural in the centre of the park, able to play in multiple positions.

He, however, plays a more holding midfielder role and if he should potentially make a move to Anfield, getting a starting position would be tough to ask with the likes of Henderson, Fabinho and Wijnaldum also able to play in that specific role.

There is no doubting Thiago’s ability and if Wijnaldum does not renew his contract, then the Spanish International would be a direct replacement for the Dutchman. The 29-year-old has made 150 appearances for Bayern since joining them, scoring 17 goals and providing 20 assists.

He has a price tag in the region of about £54m which may put Klopp off due to his age. Nonetheless, Thiago remains a class act and Liverpool can benefit from having him in the squad, especially having so many titles behind his name with Barcelona and Bayern combined.
