Wolverhampton beat Bournemouth 1-0 to win their second game since the return and their fourth victory in five going back to March. As was the case in the other wins, Raul Jimenez was once again on the score sheet. It was the Mexican international 15th goal of the season, and he has now scored in all of Wolves’ last seven league wins.

The goal was nearly identical to the one he scored against West Ham at the weekend. Both goals came from Adama Traore crosses from the right, and Jimenez was present in the box to head home on both occasions. It’s the 10th time the two have combined for a goal this season, the most of any duo in the league this season. For Traore, it was his ninth assist of what has been a great season.

It keeps up Jimenez’s great 2019/20 season. With 24 goals in all competitions, he has the most goals of any Premier League player. With seven games left to play, he is still in contention for the golden boot. It’s an outside shot with a number of players still ahead of him, but with his current form, it’s impossible to rule him out.

The win puts Wolves tied with Manchester United on 49 points and gives them space ahead of Tottenham and Sheffield United. With Wolves only set to play one team that sits above them in the table, Chelsea on the final matchday, it gives Nuno Santo’s side a great chance to push for the last Champions League spot.
