2. Norwich City

Daniel Farke’s side returned into action after 100 days against the Saints with no supporters at Carrow Road. Norwich City always enjoyed the boisterous crowd behind them and their absence on the matchday due to the pandemic hurt them badly on their return. Southampton thrashed the Canaries and the game ended with a scoreline of 3-0.

Norwich started the game on a good note, attacking Southampton from both flanks. However, with few players visibly far from match fitness, Norwich failed to maintain the tempo throughout 90 minutes,

The Saints took the lead in the second half and this where Norwich should be questioning themselves for their lazy defending. Dany Ings was let free and unmarked when he slotted the ball past Tim Krul. Within five minutes from conceding the first goal, Danny Ings scored once again past Norwich City’s defense.

When it looked all done and dusted, former Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond rubbed salt in wounds of the Canaries by adding a late goal. The result sees Norwich City seven points off the safety zone and at present, it looks seemingly difficult for them to avoid relegation in the 2019/20 season.

3. West Ham United

David Moyes’ horrendous run with the Hammers continued when Wolverhampton defeated them by two goals at London Stadium. Nuno Santo’s masterstroke to introduce Adama Traore in the 64th minute helped Wolves to break West Ham United’s resilience and slot two goals past them before the final whistle.

David Moyes is considered a firefighter by West Ham, as he has saved them from relegation in the past. He was appointed in place of Manuel Pellegrini after a series of disastrous performances in the first half of the season. However, the situation has not improved since then and the relegation drop seems a realistic chance for the Hammers.

West Ham United are just a place above the bottom three because of their better goal difference compared to AFC Bournemouth, who sits on the same points as them with 27 points. With a run of deciding games to come, West Ham has issues that have to be sorted out quickly.
