Dear Marcus Rashfrord,

There was a time when we were down against Paris St. Germain and our manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said, “mountains are there to be climbed, arent they?”. A question popped into my mind of who will bail out our club and help us in our climb. Our premier midfielder, Paul Pogba, was suspended for the second leg against PSG. Thankfully, with Romelu Lukaku getting one back for us it got me to believe that we can still do it.

Sadly, the goal from Bernat put PSG on level terms and restored their two-goal advantage. Then a stroke of luck fell for Romelu, where he pounced on a Buffon spill to help us cut their lead to one goal. I had almost no nails left when the game started to reach its final moments.

Then there was a massive shout for a penalty. You stepped up to take on the responsibility. It was nervy times. It could have gone either way. You could have turned into a villain if you had missed or be the hero that we all knew you would be one day. You didn’t disappoint by achieving the latter. You scored the goal in injury time, sealing an improbable comeback for Manchester United. You once again reminded us that “We Never Give Up.”

Born in a subcontinent country, India, it is always difficult to watch the English Premier League due to a massive difference in time. Although, the +05:30 difference didn’t deter me from following the EPL. In fact, all I did was wait up for my favorite drama serious, football, starring Man United.

I did not get to witness the golden generation, which saw the golden days of Sir Alex Ferguson. I could only see his final season at Old Trafford. Since his departure, we have endured both difficult times and good times, but importantly, we have seen the rise of homegrown players. Among those players, you are the one who has never failed to live up to expectations.

I remember you (Marcus Rashford) replacing Anthony Martial in the UEFA Europa League fixture against FC Midtjylland when he got injured during the warm-up. That was the day when your potential came into the foray. Those two goals against Midtjylland in the No 39 jersey is something that belongs in a movie, one that I would watch till today. You made it look so simple on the big stage.

In the same season, I was waiting for the game all us United fans wait for. The Manchester derby. Many things were at stake for us but you proved that Marcus Rashford is too hot to handle for defenses. The crucial goal went on to prove the decider for us in that game. Total jubilation!

Apart from your goalscoring abilities, chance creation, and sheer pace, we saw Marcus Rashford, who is one of the best in the UK apart from sports. The gesture of raising funds for the kids is a lauding effort. We all know how one feels if a kid goes to bed without a meal on a table and nobody knows better than you. Coming from a humble background, it is always a commendable effort of raising close to £20million for a charity that provides free food for kids.

On behalf of Manchester United fans, I am proud to say that we belong to a fanbase which not only plays sports but also help others. The open letter which you wrote to the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, to take a U-turn on the school meal scheme made a positive impact. Your one letter saved millions of kids from starving.

It will be seven seasons without the Premier League title at Old Trafford. It will be thirteen seasons without a Champions League gold. But, we believe in you that you can take us to greater heights with all the abilities you have.

We expect you to continue the good work for society. We, the fans, hope that you will guide us to a top-four spot, FA Cup, and a Europa League trophy along with Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes, and Paul Pogba. Thank you Marcus Rashford!
