4-3-3 The second alternative for the Blues.

This is another formation Chelsea has used this season. It is a good formation where the midfielders can move up and down the field together. Meaning, they can defend as well as go on the attack.

In the Blues’ last match, they used the 4-3-3 and ended up winning against Everton 4-0. If Lampard were to use this formation next season, the starting XI would look like this;

Starting XI in a 4-3-3 formation: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, James, Jorginho, Kanté, Kovacic, Mount, Werner, Ziyech.

The only difference with this formation is the extra midfielder with Jorginho and the change of Ziyech to the wing. This formation allows Ziyech to play a little higher up the pitch but would prevent Reece James from being able to send in crosses.

The 4-3-3 would give the bench a little more depth with attackers. Keeping Abraham, Pulisic, and Hudson-Odoi can keep Chelsea fresh in attack. The defense would stay the exact same. For the midfield, Gilmour and Loftus-Cheek would be the main substitutes.
