What do you reckon Frank’s line-up will look like after Chelsea confirmed Timo Werner?

Chelsea has a very talented squad. With the newcomers, the regular starters, and the young players, it is going to be tough for Frank Lampard to pick the starting XI. There are many different formations Frank could potentially use.

As of now, Chelsea will have 2 newbies for the upcoming season. They will also have a very deep squad with nearly every single player ready to play. Frank Lampard has a couple of important decisions to make regarding the lineup. First is, what formation will be used. Second is, who will be the starters and who will be the substitutes.

4-2-3-1 – First Chelsea Formation

This is the formation Frank Lampard has used the majority of this season. Based on his preference, he could stick with this formation for the upcoming season.

Based on how Chelsea lined up with this formation this season, here is how they could line up the next one;

Starting XI in a 4-2-3-1 formation: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, James, Kanté, Kovacic, Pulisic, Mount, Ziyech, and Werner.

This line-up is very good, and the majority of the players are used to playing with this formation. But it won’t be the most efficient.

That is because Tammy Abraham had his breakout season, it will be tough to not have him in the starting XI. Using this formation also has its perks, Tammy off the bench would provide a fresh attack for the majority of the match.

Adding, Chelsea would not have many wingers or attacking midfielders on the bench. Callum Hudson-Odoi would probably be the only one that could cause some concern among the players and fans.
