Round eight and we’ve back stepped to round one of the testings. Two new COVID-19 cases confirmed by the Premier League.

The Premier League have publically announced they have found two positive incidents of the Coronavirus in their latest testing run. This is not the news the English top flight needed four days before the Premier League kicks off.

The EPL was set to restart as soon as this week coming Wednesday, June 17. It was looking quite good and particular safe to start in recent weeks, now this happens. However, things can’t be particularly safe, it has to be completely safe before these players go out and face the football pitch and each other.

There have been 8868 tests carried out to date over the eight rounds. There have been 16 positive infections, including the latest two picked up, showing there is still minimal reason to panic. However, getting closer to the restart date is a bit worrying.

Norwich player confirmed as one COVID-19 case

Norwich has come out to say one of their players have been identified with the virus. No name has been added to the news of this, but it must be noted they have just recently beaten Jose Mourinho’s Spurs behind closed doors in a friendly match.

This could be a danger to both clubs. But you have to be honest and understand this is bound to happen with them being involved in more contact since returning to full contact training.

Next. Chelsea vs. Man City. dark

Their first game is Friday where they host out of relegation danger, Southampton. Sitting last and six points adrift from safety, this is not the news you want to hear as a struggling club.

Hopefully, the Premier League will get much-needed motivation from the Spanish La Liga, who are well on their way with their first matchday this weekend, after they’ve just reinstated the Spanish league.
