Transfer news: Chinese star Wu Lei could be on his way to Wolves
Can Wu Lei handle the EPL?
Lei would need to persevere and try and replicate his form in the Chinese Super League, which would be a difficult task to accomplish.
There are players in the team such as João Moutinho and Rúben Neves who can make his (Lei) job easier by providing assists and creating more opportunities but he would need to adapt to the pace of the EPL.
Nuno Santo looks to be a great manager with excellent vision, mixing youth and experience and who could give Lei a fresh start, transforming him into the star he was before moving to Espanyol.
Wolves currently lie in 6th position with 43 points, just 5 points away from a potential Champions League spot. If the Wolverhampton side qualifies for Europa or Champions League and manage to keep a hold of all their players, then adding Lei to the squad would provide depth and the ability to rotate the squad better than this season.
Their early struggles to adapt and play in both domestic and European competition was because of lacking depth. Their league position could have been far better now if they had a better start. They need to improve and build on this season’s efforts, maybe even pushing for Champions League football.
