The Wanderers are looking to reinforce their side and look to RCD Espanyol’s Wu Lei as a possible buy.

Wolves are looking to boost their attacking options and the 28-years-old Chinese international from RCD Espanyol could be the ideal forward to assist their star, Raúl Jiménez. But who exactly is Wu Lei and how will he benefit the team?

Lei joined Espanyol in the 2018/2019 season from Shanghai SIPG, where had come off a prolific four-year spell with the Chinese based team. He had scored a record 75 goals for the Chinese outfit in 117 matches played while also providing 32 assists.

He (Lei) set the record for scoring a total of 169 goals for Shanghai SIPG in all competitions since his professional debut in 2006 at just 14-years-old, making him the youngest and highest goalscorer of all time for the Chinese Super League giants.

After yielding such stats, the Barcelona based team decided to make a move for the Chinese star in 2018 and test his mettle in the Spanish League. Lei in his first season played 16 matches contributing 3 goals and 1 assist, while in the current season he has provided 3 goals in 22 matches played so far.

Lei’s estimated transfer market value is set at about €8m as per (transfermarkt) and if Nuno Espírito Santo can capture the signing of the Espanyol man it may work out to be the bargain buy of the season.
