Chelsea players to keep an eye on ahead of summer signings

Callum Hudson-Odoi
It’s not for a lack of talent, but Callum Hudson-Odoi may have the most to prove. He is a very promising young talent, but his injury history has limited his opportunities.
His longest run of starts came in a four-game stretch at the end of January, but a hamstring injury ended that run and would sideline him until the season paused. He’s had to miss more games with an injury (nine games) than he has been able to start this season (seven games).
Similar to Mount, Hudson-Odoi’s conflict comes with the Ziyech signing. Ziyech has mainly played as a right-winger for Ajax this season, and that’s where Hudson-Odoi has mainly appeared when starting this season.
He can play on the left as well but with Pulisic and Werner potentially occupying that role, remaining on the right seems more likely.
He’s shown his talent when he has been healthy, it just has not been often enough. If he is to remain healthy for the rest of the season he could definitely remind everyone how good he is ahead of summer’s arrivals.
