Gabon-Fire still at Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of Arsenal’s better buys over the years. A natural goalscorer, the Gabon International is the hope that may keep the Gunners’ dreams alive. Last seasons joint-top goalscorer, he already has17 goals for the current campaign and may surpass his record of 22 goals scored prior, in 2018-2019.

Auba has expressed his love for the club, but the love for a club only goes so far. As per the Express, Chelsea is in for a new forward and Aubameyang seems to be on their radar. To top it off,  Aubameyang has just 12 months left on his contract and no new deal has been negotiated or offered to the player.

The young Gabriel Martinelli

At just 18 years of age, the Brazillian forward looks like a talented player and after 14 matches played he has scored 3 goals. If Arteta can use him and bring out his full potential, Martinelli is going to draw interest from some of the top clubs out there.

Bukayo Saka

Another talented and pacey youngster, Saka was showing great promise before COVID-19 halted football. Saka featured 18 times for the Gunners senior side, providing 3 assists. Unfortunately, he hasn’t contributed any goals so far but being only 17-years-old, he still has a long way to go to prove himself. Arsenal should keep a hold of the Englishman.

Nicolas Pépé

The Ivorian came with a hefty price tag of £72 million, a club-record signing for the London side. The question was always going to be, does the price tag justify the player? Arsenal were never really ones to dish out huge sums of money for players but Pépé was the exception, as he came off of an amazing 2018/2019 season with Lille, scoring 22 goals and assisting 11 in 38 matches played.

That kind of stats would justify the price, but he just hasn’t found his form and this is just another example of how tough the EPL is. Next season when he has become more accustomed to the Premier League, maybe he can show off more of his abilities and skills as he did so well in the French League.

Alexandre Lacazette

The French star just hasn’t performed as well as he did in Ligue 1. In his 8 years playing for Lyon before joining Arsenal in 2017, he was a reliable and prolific goalscorer playing a total of 203 matches, contributing to 121 goals. Lacazette, no doubt can help Arsenal achieve more but he would still need the service from the midfield and the wider players as he plays in a more centre-forward role.
