There is much to be excited about when the Premier League returns. Yes, only when and no ifs, buts, or maybes, just total optimism the top flight will commence on June 17.

The Premier League return date has been earmarked as June 17. There are some great matchdays packed with several important events in one day. Each team has nine games left to play, with four clubs having an extra game in hand. They will take up the first playing slots come to the reboot date.

England made it official that football will return in the Union Jack state. Following the wondrous publication, the EPL followed with news the fourth round of testing all came back 100% negative, adding positivity to the already elated feelings going around.

Now we get set, prepped, and keep our fingers cross that we only experience minor setbacks in before the Juen 17, with nothing threatening the halt of the restart. Here we will look at the great matchups we have over the intended six weeks of catchup action.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal

This match was supposed to happen at the Etihad right before the Premier League was shut down due to COVID-19. This would have been an interesting matchup as Manchester City has lost much of their defence due to injury. Arsenal, on the other hand, has a lot of offensive firepower with a skilled front four of Aubameyang, Pepe, Lacazette, and Ozil. This match could be crucial to Arsenal’s chances of European football.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United

A great matchup featuring two teams who are fighting for the final Champions League spot. Though, Manchester United might be ahead by four points, a win for Tottenham can turn the tides to make things even more interesting. Before the league was put on hold, Manchester United was on fire, having not lost since January 22nd against Burnley.

Chelsea vs. Manchester City

Two teams that always put on a show when they clash. Chelsea and Man City have had similar seasons in a sense. Both are in a Champions League position, they have had quite a few poor performances, and the injury bug has hit both teams. A Chelsea win would result in them coming closer to third place. A Man City victory would create some separation between them and Leicester City, only. High intense game with no real meaning.

Manchester United vs. Sheffield United

The battle of the United’s. This match is very crucial as Sheffield is only two points behind Man U.  Man United will be the clear favourites due to Sheffield’s goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, who will be ineligible to play. He has been one of the best stoppers in the league and a big asset to the second-best defence in the league.
