Kompany gets offered Arteta’s old job at Man City as Pep’s assistance. The ball is in Vincent’s half.
Vincent Kompany thought the difficult decisions are behind him and everything he does now won’t be too much pressure for him to deal with. Time away from the Premier League was the intent, but it appears the two are drawn to each other and must be in each other’s company.
In fact, his final moment as a Citizen and a Premier League player was insanely marvellous. A single moment of brilliance from the then captain turned into a premiership title for him and Pep. This was when he unleashed one of the best Premier League winning goals in the history of its existence.

After winning his final EPL gold under the guidance of Guardiola, the player took a backseat from the brutal demand and unforgiving nature of football in England. He moved back to his first club, Anderlecht, as a player-manager for the club.
Life away from the Etihad
Well, fair to say his first season was a tough one for him and the Belgian club. An eighth-placed finish and a COVID-19 forced conclusion to the league was their outcome. It was not a good time for any team around Europe.
With Vincent in company, their placing was four places lower than the season before where they placed fourth. They had to watch their long-term rivals pick up their 16th league title while they miss out on Champions League football by a long mile.
"Reports have suggested that City were keen to welcome their former skipper back to the Etihad as a replacement for ex-assistant Mikel Arteta, who left the club to join Arsenal in December. However, while there was no offer made during a conversation between Guardiola and Kompany recently, it was made clear that the door would always be open for Kompany to return in the future."
As per Pep’s sayings, there were no official talks between him and the Belgian. The club is open to the idea of having him around. It was clear to see the presence of the defender was missing in the dressing room, as they fell out of the title race very early.
After losing Arteta, a man Pep entrusted dearly, it was only going to get harder. They need another strong character in the room, another leader like Vincent Kompany.
