If you didn’t know, now you know. Brendan Rodgers and his wife were COVID-19 infected immediately after Europe was named the epicentre of the pandemic that swept all nations. Happy to hear, he is fully recovered and ready to go.

In the mix of all things positive surrounding the Premier League and its complicated task of carrying out a safe return, the Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers, comes forward and hits us with a flashback Friday when COVID-19 was touring the world faster than a jet-setter.

He joins the list with Mikel Arteta, Hudson-Odoi, and others, who have contracted the virus in between the time of football’s ending and its restart, and have strongly recovered. The 47-year-old explained how brutal the feeling is when catching the deadly virus. He described how helpless you become under the influence of it and how it brings a new meaning to having an uphill climb in life.

More from Leicester City

"Me and my wife had it just after [the season] broke up. A week later I really started to struggle, I had no smell and no taste. I had no strength, and I really struggled, and my wife was the same as well. I got tested and we both had it. I could hardly walk.It reminded me of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, as you climb higher you get more breathless. Walking 10 yards felt very different. I went for a run, and I just couldn’t do it. I felt really weak, had no real appetite, and had a weird sensation for three weeks of having no taste. (Via: Sky Sports)"

Happy to see Brendan back to business

Since all of the communications regarding Project Restart and Return to Training Protocol, there have been many opposed to it for reasons, nobody can judge them negatively for. With this in mind and for Rodgers to return to action, ready to take charge of his Foxes to complete the final stretch shows he has strong character.

Brendan and his pack of Foxes got back to the training grounds on Wednesday after the announcement teams were allowed to engage in special social distancing training. Their return to domestic action sees them go up against Man United.

London safe for EPL fixtures to take place. dark. Next

They have all but confirmed a Champions League spot and in this one, they encounter a side who are in search of an important three points to get into Europe’s top club competition. The reverse fixture saw United take all the points with a 1-0 win.

Let’s hope all the players and staff stay fit and Rodgers’ early scare with his family was the last of its kind and June 17 adjusts from being marked as the provisional date to the genuine restart of Premier League football.
