How Timo Werner and Roberto Firmino can coexist at Liverpool

How Werner will fit in
Starting with Werner, the Liverpool system is a perfect fit for him. He is built for counter-attacking and running in behind and is used to pressing on the defensive side.
He has constantly shown his eye for goal throughout the season and has scored through the middle of the park as well as coming off of both wings. This ability to interchange would be needed to line up with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, as the two commonly switch positions with Firmino.
Werner is in the midst of a career-best year, scoring 30 goals and adding 12 assists in 38 games to this point. He is second in the Bundesliga scoring charts with 24 goals, sitting just behind Robert Lewandowski who has 27.
It’s no coincidence that Werner’s best year came in Julian Nagelsmann’s first season there. The 32-year-old head coach implemented a system that shares characteristics to Klopp’s, making the transfer so ideal.
He would not be the first player to join Liverpool from Leipzig, as the move would reunite him with former teammate Naby Kieta. The duo formed a formidable partnership together at Leipzig.
