Timo Werner has been linked with a move to Anfield for awhile now, and it has come back into the forefront of the news this week.

Jurgen Klopp reignited the fire when he announced that he held virtual meetings with Werner in April, and Werner fueled it with a hattrick in RB Leipzig’s 5-0 win over Mainz 05 this past weekend.

Werner has expressed his interest throughout the season, praising Klopp and stating his interest in playing in his side. He has also said he would not leave Leipzig for anybody else, easing the process for Liverpool and preventing a potential bidding war.

Barring a major sale in the summer, the question with this signing would be… How would Werner fit into Liverpool’s front three? More specifically, can he coexist with Roberto Firmino, who currently occupies the central role upfront in a false 9?

The simple solution, and what I believe to be the best, is to move Firmino to the midfield and start Werner in his best position, that being the striker role. Here we look at how this will benefit Liverpool, as well as Firmino and Werner themselves.
