Enemies on the pitch are now showing love for each other off it. As mentioned previously, some clubs are not on the same page as the Premier League heads with this “Project Restart” idea.

Frank Lampard stands up for the sceptical Hornets’ captain, Deeney. He feels it’s only understandable, we all human and cannot help our fears, especially when we have loved ones who could be affected by our actions.

However, they will receive no sympathy from the English Top Flight’s hierarchy. They have issued warnings to clubs, stating the players should be “docked pay” if they refuse to train and show up for matchdays when English football returns.

Some Premier League managers are not only worried about the health and safety of the players but also their fitness. Some of them feel the limited time allocated for them to get up to speed is nowhere near enough.

This gives the impression the Premier League’s attempt to ease fatigue with five substitutions per 90 minutes, instead of the usual three, is just not enough to get the 2019-2020 season over the line.

Newcastle’s Steve Bruce has brought this up publically. The fact of the matter is how clubs are not thinking about this return as if they were returning to action during the preseason. Preseason training normally offers the same/similar amount of limited weeks to get ready.
