Code name “Project Restart” is what the Premier League is dubbing the return to English football following the COVID-19 pandemic. Clubs now wait till Friday to find out where they play out this makeshift scheme.
The war against COVID-19 persists globally but still hands us more positives with each new day. Some of the most affected in the world show signs of rebirth. In England, the Premier League decision-makers and clubs meet Friday for crunch talks regarding “Project Restart“.
Conversations about where they play out the last 92 games will initiate while under apocalyptic restrains now that the “when” is sorted out to some degree. The “how” is the only definitive of all steps taken in the most confusing period the world and football have ever encountered.

The plan in place which favours the EPL heads is playing all matches at “national stadiums” in England. The proposed fields are Wembley, St. George’s Park, and even Twickenham. The 20 clubs who are desperate to start proceedings are against it and want to keep the feels of home ground advantage going.
Even without fans and playing behind closed doors. To be frank, couldn’t care less if they were to play all 92 fixtures at the Liberty Stadium in Wales. Just as long as we get the show on the road but still not forgetting… Health and safety first.
"St George’s Park — England’s Staffordshire training base — and Wembley are considered leading options, although the absence of broadcast facilities at the former would need to be rectified. The Premier League have also made initial contact with Twickenham about using the home of English rugby, which would be available over June and July if necessary. World War Z practice
Prevention is better than cure (wish there were more people that lived by this saying). The ruling on some of the precautionary steps taken in the return of football is to have players tested twice a week while staying away in isolation from their family.
Fifa’s chief medic has called for officials to issue cards if players spit during a match. They want to finish the football of 2019-2020 and playing under these hygienic measures are surely a small feature to overcome.
UEFA have applied some pressure on all leagues throughout, giving them until the May 25 to handover plans for the restoration of football post coronavirus. The French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 have already been cancelled, with no sports to take place before September, as per statements.
This is not the result the La Liga wants, nor the Premier League.
Understanding it from the EPL chiefs
Having it at the same place, or a select few sporting venues rather than all over England is easier to contain and hold to COVID-19 rules while the world is still more than vulnerable to its threat. This will make it a lot more manageable.
