Loris Karius – Goalkeeper

The infamous Loris Karius. Despite his errors in the UEFA Champions League final two seasons ago in Kiev against Real Madrid, he was doing okay as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Ridiculed for those two, not soon forgotten errors and blasted when he mentioned that he had a concussion, and that was the cause. The question is, has he made any improvement at Besiktas?

This is Karius’ second season at Besiktas and even though he had a very average 1st season for the Turkish team he has improved in the current 2019/2020 season accumulating 8 clean sheets in 25 matches played starting every match.

Currently, Adrián has not been at his best. It has shown in a couple of matches when he has been called upon. Without a decent 3rd choice keeper, Karius should have a place in the team as the 2nd choice behind Alisson.

That’s if the club decides not to sign another backup after Adrian’s contract expires. They will most likely run his contract out and let him leave on a free in 2021.
