Liverpool looked as if they were on a journey no other team could replicate in 1000 years. Sadly it took three moments to be portrayed as a pretty average campaign for a team fighting for top honours.

It was growing into normality for Jurgen and his Liverpool team to sweep their opponents aside, winning almost every match and dropping a point almost never. Their brilliant form and never say quite type of persona saw them push the envelope in almost every competition.

Taking part in their first Community Shield match since 2006, Liverpool took the runners-up medal when they faced Pep’s Man City for the curtain raiser of what we would come to know as the best Premier League run ever by a Liverpool side. A week past and coming up for the Reds was one hectic campaign.

More from Champions League

The Reds 2019-2020 season was about defending their Champions League trophy, partake in the Super Cup, push their luck in the Club World Cup, and take on the domestic challenge of the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and EPL. Not long after the intense trip began did we already know where all their focus was going into.

The good times came rolling in

Bang, a Super Cup in the bag with a win over Chelsea on penalties. Then another accomplishment soon after in the bag, the Club World Cup, Liverpool’s first-ever. Then it was all domestic and a title-defending run after this.

Liverpool tapped out of the EFL Cup after sending in their reserve platoon to take on the Villians at Villa Park. It was an ugly ending to a valiant push. A red “X” next to the EFL Cup and only three cups to dwell on now.
