Man City is allowing the NHS to use part of the Etihad during the COVID-19 pandemic, as it hits Europe in a big way over the past several days.

The concerns of the Coronavirus grow rapidly across the land as the total reportedly reaches 700, 000 confirmed cases worldwide and some parts of Europe brace for the biggest surges since the virus has hit planet earth.

Furthermore, it has been announced the UK could remain in lockdown status for a longer period than foretold, with them saying six months for the least now is the time frame. During this time Man City and many other clubs have offered their assistance in this terrible time.

The manager Pep Guardiola sent a donation to his home country, Spain, as they too suffer sadly, getting hit harder than the UK. The back-to-back Premier League winner donated €1m to help the fight against the Coronavirus.

More from Manchester City

Now his club has followed suit and is extending their stadium to the NHS, who has been applauded for their bravery during this time. In desperate times such as these, space for treating patients becomes an issue.

Medical supplies as well. With City offering the Etihad, they now have another venue to help train medical staff.

"Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium will be partially taken over by the NHS to help in the fight against coronavirusIt is understood City will make available their executive boxes and conference rooms with the purpose of helping with the training of doctors and nurses during the crisis."

Other large centres and buildings are already being put to good use in the fight against COVID-19. The more space and place available for use at this time, the better.

Hopefully, the Etihad can bring those training at the grounds the same success it has brought Pep, Pellegrini, and Mancini, in recent years.
