Tough times ahead for football across the world – Return dates likely to be missed
What to do, what to do? No plans in place and no confidence in what the future holds for football. The Premier League and every other across the globe in a state of discussion but what more can be done?
Uneasy times soars across different nations with the same detrimental effect. The COVID-19 pandemic making every final decision faced a difficult one. The Premier League and all English divisions are in continuous talks to see…
When will the league be restarted, do they make the decision to scrap an entire league, all leagues? Is the 30th of April a realistic date to resume action? Will there be enough containment of the Coronavirus before then to be able to play behind closed doors? Honestly, to be in one of these decision-makers’ shoes would be testing for any individual.

It would be sad to strip Liverpool of an EPL title they were 9 games away from. It would be wrong to hand it to them. It would be tough to do this anywhere around the world.
EFL and Professional Footballers’ Association agree on one thing though… One of these decisions needs to be made. As for now, all classes are still set to commence on the first initial date submitted, April 30.
"Difficult decisions will have to be taken. All games have been postponed until at least 30 April and will only resume “when it is safe and conditions allow. We have agreed to work together to arrive at shared solutions. A view to formulating a joint plan to deal with the difficult circumstances facing the leagues, their clubs, players, staff and fans. (Via: BBC Sports)"
So much going on
Not much can happen with governments of different countries holding the call for when anything takes place. Some of the managers (André Villas-Boas) feel that December is a great time to end proceedings.
"Marseille boss Villas-Boas wants the 2019/20 season to finish in December. This is difficult for everyone. We are starting to think that the most viable option would be to finish this season in November to December and then stick with a schedule that is aligned with calendar years from 2021 to reach 2022 and the Qatar World Cup.After that, we would have to return to the normal calendar. For the financial health of the clubs, it would be good to finish this season.(Via: www.getfootballnewsfrance.com)"

This would be tough for all leagues to adhere to. Not all leagues run the same. As stated by FFF President Noël Le Graët, “We cannot restart the competition until the government gives the green light.”
There is just no right nor wrong decisions made at this time, as everybody in football and other sectors is still learning. It would have been a lot easier to make a call if we were three games in, or if anything didn’t even start.
