Orkun Kökçü – Feyenoord – Attacking Midfielder

Arsenal are in need of an attacking midfielder to replace Mesut Ozil, and who better than a fellow technical monster with Turkish roots? Orkun Kökçü has been fantastic in his first season as a starter for Feyenoord, and although he hasn’t quite added the top-level end-product to his game just yet, you can bet that it will come sooner rather than later.

Last season, Kökçü burst out of the gates with 3 goals and 4 assists in just 11 Eredivisie appearances, and while his end product has slowed down this year, he is still an extremely influential player in possession and has been playing in a slightly deeper role for the Rotterdam-based side, who currently sit 3rd in the Eredivisie.

Arsenal have already been linked with the current Turkey u21 international, and a move would reportedly cost around £23m, which would be a good price for a player with such talent and potential. While the rest of the big clubs fight over £100m+ Kai Havertz, Arsenal could sneak in and snap up Kökçü.

Jonathan David – Gent – Attacking Midfielder/Striker

Jonathan David is a player who has been linked with the Gunners extensively since the New Year, and he would add a seriously new dimension to the team. David is exceptional when driving the ball from deep positions, and is also excellent when making runs into the final-third – something Arsenal have been desperately missing since Aaron Ramsey left the club.

Jonathan David would also be an adequate Mesut Ozil replacement, although I see him more as a completely new addition to the squad, rather than a replacement for a current player, because he possesses qualities that nobody at the club currently does.

You might also see David as a replacement for Lacazette, who has been in poor form all season. David is faster and more powerful a player than Lacazette, and he would be able to replace the goals that the Frenchman has been scoring without a doubt. His versatility would aid Arsenal greatly.

The quoted fee for Jonathan David is reportedly between £20m and £30m, although some outlets have even been reporting a fee as low as £17.5m, which would be a steal and a half in this market. Jonathan David has big potential, and Arsenal should buy into it.
