Differential Picks

Diogo Jota (FWD, 6.3m, Brighton at home)

At the risk of repeating myself from last week, Jota is 1.7m cheaper than Jimenez and has 1 goal and 2 assists more than his teammate in the last 2 games. You get what you pay for and Jota does often get taken off in matches, whereas Jimenez plays the full 90 more often than not. But if you are looking to make up some ground with an alternative to the template, Jota is an excellent option.

Riyad Mahrez (MID, 8.4m, Man United away)

If the DGW is confirmed and you want to take a punt on another player with two bites at the cherry then Mahrez is a decent option if you’re willing to ride the Pep-roulette rollercoaster. The tricky winger has pushed his way into the starting XI, starting 6 of the last 8 games, and is capable of an enormous haul (17 points vs Villa, 15 vs Watford).

Defensive Picks

Matt Doherty (DEF, MID, 6.2m, Brighton at home)

Just to drive home the point about Wolves, Doherty scored at the weekend and has returned to playing as almost a 3rd striker. He spends more time in the opposition box than his own and just loves to attack! If I hadn’t sold Martial for Fernandes last week (after he was rumoured to be injured) I would have brought in Doherty.
