Less than a month after joining Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes produces his first breakout performance for the club, putting Watford to the sword.

Coming off the back of an unlucky yet big win over Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend, Manchester United had a glorious opportunity to maintain some strong on Sunday against bottom-feeders Watford, as they aim to crack a top 4 spot come May.

Watford have been struggling all season, and it was an excellent opportunity for Manchester United’s players to impress their boss and earn places in the XI for the coming months, which will contain a number of crucial matches.

Bruno Fernandes, who was brought into the club during the final week of the January transfer window, truly broke out of his shell against Watford on Sunday, bagging a goal and an assist to top off what was a rather flawless performance in the number 10 role.

According to sofascore, Fernandes provided an impressive 4 key passes, along with having a 100% dribble success rate and a 100% ground duel rate – which clearly highlights his massive creative presence in midfield, and his intensity in maintaining possession.

Fernandes won a penalty as well, which he was allowed to convert himself – his first goal for Manchester United, a club he will likely be a crucial component of in the long-run. In the 75th minute, Fernandes provided his 2nd assist for the club, feeding Mason Greenwood on the counter-attack as the electric young forward emphatically smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

These first few weeks have been extremely promising for Bruno Fernandes. While some raised issues about his ability to deal with the Premier League’s physicality, the Portuguese international has adjusted quickly and is already greatly impacting the scoresheet and the match proceedings.

This is crucial for Solskjaer and the entire Manchester United team because they were banking on his ability to adjust quickly, as they are aiming to fight for a top 4 spot in the coming weeks. There was no time for an adjustment period, and Bruno Fernandes is proving that he doesn’t need one anyways.

Expect him to maintain a high level of performance in the coming weeks, after getting his first breakout showing out of the way against Watford.
