180 minutes of football but no goals scored in Wolves 0-0 Leicester City draw
It was either-or when Brendan Rodgers’ foxtrotted to Wolverhampton in search of some points. Either they were going to entertain us with a goal-laden clash or as we witness for the second time this season, a goalless draw.
Arguably two of the best teams outside of the usual top-six clubs in the Premier League are Wolves and Leicester. The Wanderers, an almost unstoppable force inside the Molineux Stadium, and led by the Mexican sicario, Raúl Jiménez. Their opponent, the Foxes, led by the terror terrier Jamie Vardy.
Both clubs were out for blood worthy of three points in this top of the table clash. Taking the last two encounters at this venue into consideration, we were supposed to be gearing up for a duel that should have been plagued with goals. The Molineux Stadium were spoilt with a seven-goal thriller in the previous meeting. Sadly this fixture was wide off that seven-goal mark.

No Jimenez, no Vardy
Jimenez vs. Vardy was the call. If either were to show up on the night, three points would be granted to either man’s team, guaranteed. Whoever made the shout was on the money. Both men failed to make an impact on the game.
Jamie Vardy failed to record a shot at goal, while Raul Jiménez was wide off target with five shots at goal and four of them off target. He came extremely close in the embers of the game but it was never meant to be for it was nobody’s special night inside the goalless Molineux Stadium.
The most upsetting notion about the highly anticipated Premier League matchup, this was supposed to be a battle royal between a lot more names than just the two aforementioned players. Sadly we were blindsided and duped by dogs.
The den of Wolves consisting of Raúl Jiménez, Adama Traoré, Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves, versus the pack of Foxes containing Jamie Vardy, Youri Tielemans, James Maddison, Ayoze Pérez, and Harvey Barnes could do nothing for another 90 minutes of football. It was a hit and miss type of affair.
What this displays in return, is that these two are strong forces and cancelling each other out shouldn’t come as a surprise, even if they were to share the points with a 4-4 scorecard compared to the 0-0 scoreline. The Biggest talking point was the set of yellow cards leading to the red card handed to Hamza Choudhury. Referee Mike Dean was quick to draw his cards but rightfully so.
Wolves need to find another win
The Wanderers need to find their second win this year. Their slump has seen them take the title as one of the worst teams over five games. Many things happening for Nuno and his men as they reach the knockout stages of the Europa League.
This coupled with a visit from Norwich and a trip to Tottenham is on the cards and back-to-back matches against relegation-threatened, Brighton and West Ham. There are many points to be collected here.
Leicester unable to find consistency
Still unable to repeat the long unbeaten run experienced in the early stages of the campaign, with two wins in a row the best they can do since going three games without a win.
It has been a tough turn of the year but they sit in the top three with some breathing space. Nine points in between them and the next team (Chelsea). They will keep that point gap till the next matchday of the Premier League.
Their up and coming is a visit from the previous EPL champions, Man City and then three matches against teams in the survival serious, Norwich, Aston Villa, and Watford. A change in form could be on the cards for Brendan and the Foxes.
