Done Deal: Hakim Ziyech is an excellent addition to Lampard’s Chelsea
Yes, it the back that requires more attention than the front line but a player of Hakim Ziyech’s quality is a must for any club.
During his time while on international and club duty, he has tallied 86 goals and 98 assists. These two stats alone show what his most lethal asset is to a team, and that is his supply. 98 assists does not come from being selfish or having a one-man show.
This season alone he averages 3.4 key passes per game, as well as possess a pass completion rate of 80%. He has helped Ajax with eight goals and 16 assists. Already four Man of the Match awards in the Eredivisie, coupled with a couple in the Champions League.
Imagine the service Tammy would get from this man? If not him, imagine Chelsea were to go onto complete the signing of perhaps Timo Werner, or Sancho? The Blues from London should be rivalling Man City and Liverpool for Premier League glory with these names.
Though, Chelsea is a considerable distance from challenging the aforementioned duo. They first need to make serious moves for defenders. Perhaps even a new number one to play Kepa Arrizabalaga for the number one spot. Ben Chilwell is another they must turn into a reality.
He will most certainly improve Lampard’s defence, both in going forward and at the back. This represents great business from the Chelsea club and they are far from done.
