There are other options

There is still time and plenty of moving parts that could come together before the start of the summer transfer window.

Dortmund has made some rumblings that they do not want to continue being known as the club that just builds up young talent just to see them jettisoned when they outgrow the club’s ability to pay. Does anyone remember IIkay Gundogan, Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Erik Durm? Trust me, Dortmund supporters do.

The Ruhr valley club has tried to pay high priced talent before and each time it meant financial disaster as they utilized an unsustainable financial model.

Nevertheless, Die Schwarzgelben is in a better financial position now and is putting additional pieces in place to build a strong squad (Erling Haaland, anyone?). It is possible Jadon Sancho could renew his contract, but at what cost, even if he did want to stay?

The Premier League giants are not the only European super clubs that have been interested (or could be) in an extremely talented 19-year-old who has shown promise in a first-tier league.

Real Madrid, Juventus, PSG, and Barcelona among others have also shown or expressed interest. Bayern Munich could potentially be an option. They will not be the only ones outside of England who will be interested.

This summer, as Jadon Sancho is playing for his native country in the Euro 2020 tournament, a daily roller coaster drama will be played out to determine where he will end up by the end of the summer.
