The clock is ticking on Jadon Sancho‘s contract at Dortmund. Rumors are swirling around where the young, talented Englishman will go at the end of this season. There are many suitors, but where would he be the best fit?

Jadon Sancho is a name that has been bandied about for a year now. Currently, he is a star at Borussia Dortmund in the first tier of German football. Last summer, after a glorious first full season in the Ruhr, he was linked with huge clubs back in his native England. However, he still had over two years left on his contract and after selling American Christian Pulisic to Chelsea, Dortmund was not willing to let him go.

Now, Sancho has less than two years left on his deal in Germany. If Dortmund are going to sell, then this summer is the time to do it. They committed in the January window that he was going to finish the season with the club as they are still in the hunt for trophies. That has left the summer transfer window as open as a convertible in the spring in Virginia for a move.

What’s so special about Jadon Sancho?

First, full disclosure. I have been a supporter of Borussia Dortmund for a couple of years now. In fact, I belong to an official club supported fan group in Atlanta, Georgia. We meet for every match – and drink. We do shots (for free!) for every BVB goal. This is what is awesome about being a football fan.

So, when it comes to Jadon Sancho – let me say that I personally wish that he stay in Dortmund for the rest of his career. He’s that good and is going to get better.

Sancho, who was born in London, started in the Watford junior club system at the age of seven. He was transferred for $187K to the Manchester City youth program at the age of 14. Jadon was promoted to their U18 squad soon after turning sixteen. He was then transferred to his current club in Germany for $8.62 million at the end of the summer transfer window in 2017.

Sancho played for the England national team at the U16, U17, and U19 levels, earning 36 caps at the junior level. He has 11 caps currently for the Three Lions senior-level squad.
