Everton’s rise under new management since the failure of Marco Silva as the boss has seen an immediate impact in results and exhibitions on the pitch.

Marco Silva’s time on the Merseyside shores was met with many heart-breaking moments. After being backed heavily in the transfer market by the board and got whatever outfielder he wanted at the club he was pressured into achieving positive results.

Sadly for the Portuguese, it all just went from bad to worst, to having no more job. His incapacity to stop the rest of the Premier League from scoring against his boys made it hard to collect points at home and on the road.

This season alone the Blues endured a four-game losing streak with Silva. It was becoming clearer and clearer he was unable to do the business on the pitch. Some noteworthy transfer never really playing up to standard, ultimately ending his career.

Under Marco Silva this season

  • EPL Appearances 2019-2020 – 15 Games
  • Wins – 4 Wins
  • Draws – 2 Draws
  • Losses -9 Losses
  • Clean Sheets – 3 Clean Sheets
  • Goals Scored – 16 goals
  • Goals Conceded – 27 Goals

Everything was lacking. They were letting by just over a goal a game, averaging 1.8 goals conceded by per 90 minutes of football. On the other end of the pitch, they struggled to convert their chances, just about averaging a goal conceded per game.

Even Evertonian legend, Duncan Ferguson, had more success over his short stint. He came in the interim, did his job to perfection almost, and allowed Carlo to take over when there was at least some confidence spreading throughout the team.

In his three games, taking care of the side he collected a win over fourth-placed Chelsea, followed by draws with Man United and Arsenal. He remains undefeated in the EPL this season. Over to you Carlo…
