One of Wilder’s greatest attributes has been his ability to identify players that have the versatility to play his system.

He has built a squad with the lowest total market value in the league and has them actively competing for a place in Europe next season.

We have already seen the pull of Wilder’s project in play, with highly rated midfielder Sander Berge joining during the winter transfer window. If Sheffield United continue with their upward trajectory in this manner, coups like this will become more commonplace.

Wilder has proven himself as a capable, innovative, and canny leader over the course of his four seasons at the club, but the tougher tests are yet to come, with the rest of the league likely to adapt their tactics to counter his system when facing the Blades for both the rest of the season, as well as the next one.
