Goodison Park will host the opener of the day and Matchday 26 in the Premier League, as the inauguration of the winter break takes places. Everton welcomes London club Crystal Palace in a battle for ninth place.

Everton entertains Crystal Palace in what appears to be a battle for ninth place. Funny story is, Palace sits in 14th place but only three points divide the Premier League pair. The. chance of relegation is as high as European football at this late stage.

Drop points and the worry becomes so intense it’s like playing Temple Run with one life and no more saves left. It’s all on the line. If you not in the top four, you sweltering the fight for Premier League survival.

Competition has been either so stiff, or the standard of English football has dropped. For me, it’s a little bit of both. The English Top Flight has witnessed one of the cleanest track records to an English gold medal.

One team has been winning at everything in life, while the rest of the league plays till the final whistle of the season. The standard of the other top-five clubs has dropped this season so the challenge for this season’s EPL crown has almost been none existent.

So in that regard, it has been a poor showing from the usual powerhouses. Yet, in saying this, the fight for any other spot in the league has been well-contested from the fist kickoff till now, displaying how demanding the league has become from last place to mid-table. This is where Everton and Crystal Palace fall in place.
