Liverpool’s loss of a major key component in Sadio Mane appears to have no effect on the team’s performance. They have collected another three points en route to being named champions of the Premier League.

Matchday 25 came and left, and during that time Jurgen Klopp’s men capped off their 24th win from 25 games, extending their unbeaten run for the season. They are the only club across all of Europe’s top five leagues still unbeaten this season.

They met a stubborn Southampton led by an in-form Danny Ings, who was on a mission to prove he was worth the transfer to Anfield before leaving the club a season ago. The Saints stood firm and held on at the back, not allowing Liverpool in on goal for 45 minutes of football.

It was a worrying sight for Klopp as Ralph’s travelling side nearly went up on more than one incident. But what happens to teams who do not take their early chances? They get punished! Especially if you are playing against the best in the country and the world.

Salah and Co only needed 45 minutes of football

After the whistle blew for the second half, Liverpool started laying down the Anfield law. That law is come and take nothing away from these grounds, no matter how hard you try. Liverpool scored four goals in the last 45 minutes of the game.

The pair of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah showed no mercy even without their partner Sadio Mane on the pitch. The unorthodox number 9 collected a treble of assists while Mo Salah secured a brace of goals.

The others to join in on the fun and complete the 4-0 hammering over Southampton was Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The midfield duo put in another great shift for Liverpool’s 42nd game unbeaten in the Premier League.
