Defensive Picks

Nick Pope (GK, 4.6m, Southampton away)

After a shaky few weeks in which Burnley could not keep a clean sheet no matter how hard they tried, they are now back in business.

They kept Arsenal at bay and Pope picked up his second clean sheet in a row. He has 5 bonus points in the last 3 matches and Burnley’s run to the end of the season looks like it will bring in plenty of FPL points.

Burnley is also guaranteed not to have a blank GW at any point, so he is a good option until we start loading up on the DGW players!

Federico Fernandez (DEF, 4.4m, Arsenal away)

Newcastle has a tough trip to the Emirates this week but they have shown defensive solidity under Bruce (clean sheets against Chelsea and Spurs) and could frustrate the Gunners.

Fernandez has taken advantage of their injury issues to cement his place in the team and has proven to be a bonus magnet as well, picking up 10 bonus points so far this season!
