Differential Picks

Harvey Barnes (MID, 5.9m, Wolves away)

Leicester have some strong fixtures coming up and are still sitting pretty in the top 4 with no worry of upcoming European fixtures to necessitate rotating the squad.

Vardy has dropped off a little but the slack has been picked up, in part, by winger Barnes who has 3 goals and an assist in his last 3 games! There is still a worry of rotation as he rarely completes 90 minutes, but with a lack of real options in midfield maybe he is the perfect differential to help boost your rank!

James Ward-Prowse (MID, 5.8m, Burnley at home)

Clearly I’m looking for cheap young English midfielders this week as JWP is my second differential pick. He has played every minute of every game for Southampton so far, picking up 4 goals and 3 assists along the way.

I appreciate that’s not a lot but for such a cheap option that’s perfectly respectable. He has the added bonus of being on set pieces, including his excellent free kicks! The Saints have the best run in the short term so he could be the man to help take advantage since I’ve broken Danny Ings (no goals in the 3 matches since I finally bought him).
