After the shattering disappointment of DGW24, FPL was actually fairly kind in GW25.

There were a lot of clean sheets, thanks to 3 separate 0-0 draws and most captained Mo Salah scored a fairly late brace to boost FPL scores everywhere!

During this midweek there are a few games that are not in the Premier League but will be worth your consideration from an FPL perspective as we enter FA Cup 4th Round replays.

Liverpool (or their U21s…), Newcastle, Spurs and Southampton are all in action and depending on the results we could get a couple more games confirmed as not blank in GW31 and GW34 (which clash with the FA Cup QF and SF respectively).

Most intriguing is Liverpool, who have confirmed they will be ‘honouring the winter break’ and therefore sending a youth team to play the replay with Shrewsbury.

If they lose then we will have no Liverpool blanks or doubles for the rest of the season and navigating these weeks will become significantly easier! That also brings me onto another important point to remember, GW26 will last a whole 2 weeks as we have the first-ever winter break.

Rather than just give everyone a week or 2 off, the Premier League has staggered the fixtures so 10 teams play this week and then have a break, while the other 10 have a break then play in the following week.

So don’t make any panic transfers next Friday before the Wolves vs Leicester match as the GW will still be ongoing! This week could have plenty more opportunities for points as Man City host hapless West Ham, while Liverpool travels to rock bottom, Norwich.

The big game comes right at the end of the GW as Chelsea host Man United in a battle for 4th – how the mighty have fallen.
