3. Manchester United

Now, I am sure many of you might want to throw whatever device you are reading this on out a window, but before you do that (because it might be expensive), please read on.

First off, United are fifth in the Premier League table and have key wins over Chelsea, Leicester City, Tottenham, and Manchester City. They also managed to draw against Liverpool in the only match they didn’t win.

Per understat.com, Manchester United is second in the league in xGA, fourth in xPTs for the season, and fourth in xPTs in last six games. They are also fourth in xGDiff, according to fbref.com. This is all with a not so Competent Old Legend Manager, Paul Pogba training and dancing for Real Madrid, and a depleted club that the board does not seem willing to fix.

Manchester United is not as bad as people think and if they reach a level of consistency that the analytics suggest they could challenge for the top four.
