Man City’s exhibition at Turf Moor was a fruitful one and an outing where they brought back their best football. A perfect return for Pep and his men while Dyche takes a second loss in as many games.

The first of Matchday 15 in the Premier League was almost over before it kicked off. Two fixtures played out on the night with two teams walking away from their respective fixtures as victors of three points after 90 minutes were up.

Crystal Palace did the impossible and beat a persistent Bournemouth, and they did it with only 10 men. In the other fixture, which was also the main focus in the title race, City put Burnley to bed.

After the pair of events, Palace surprisingly sits fifth in the league standings, applying pressure to all the teams from positions sixth to 10th place, and City adds pressure to the Merseyside derby. Leicester, who has the easiest fixture of all playing Watford should be getting three points easy.

A rundown of Man City’s rampage over Burnley

A scorecard of 1-4 is far from a true reflection of the game. Sean Dyche got it all wrong against Pep Guardiola. It’s not a far stretch to say if 10 of City’s 17 shots had been converted, it would not be taken as a shock result.

Not the slightest hint that Sergio Aguero was missing in the squad. Gabriel Jesus did his job to perfection on Tuesday night and came inches short of scoring a hat-trick for his brilliant effort. His first was one of the best on the night and also the only goal before the break.

After the break, it didn’t long for the champs to double their lead to two and for the Brazilian to collect his brace. Can’t really say thereafter it was all Manchester, though it can be said, the visitors stayed in control for the duration of the clash.

During the Citizens’ show, a third was added with the purest strike of the game by midfielder and possibly Man of the Match, Rodri. It was the icing on the cake for a player who served Kevin de Bruyne’s game emphatically on the night.

The Clarets’ goal was merely a consolation goal and just scored to add to the stat, Man City were unable to keep another clean sheet this season. Burnley started off like the night was going to be an interesting one, however, the champions put it to sleep early. A 2-0 ballgame in City’s favour was a bit of a naive prediction.

But because of Burnley’s luck and city converting a three of their () attempts it was almost on the money. Sean Dyche made changes too late and was totally outplayed by Pep’s men.

How it stands for Burnley and Man City

Man City closed the gap on leaders Liverpool until further notice and overtake Leicester on goal difference for the time being. If Watford pulls off a win or a draw, it would be the shock of the season thus far. That or Everton winning at Anfield.

Man City still without a loss since their Anfield trip. Next is the Manchester derby. A matchup said to be one of the decides in Ole’s future. Playing home plays further in Pep’s advantage. More points keep the others on their toes.

Pochettino's story continues. dark. Next

Burnley’s next fixture is Spurs. Should anything be said after this? Jose has Spurs playing football and scoring. Does Burnley stand a chance? Not at all with what was on display at Turf Moor.
