The Gunners are in search of a top-class manager to take over at the Emirates Stadium and because of it the Foxes are not taking chances and have offered Brendan Rodgers a new contract.
One, two, three, four… And just like that and the English Premier League are four managers down. Mauricio Pochettino, Unai Emery, Quique Sánches Flores, and now most recently, Marco Silva.
All these managers orchestrated a poor start to the season (some more than others) but conclusively lost their position as managers of the respective clubs just at the start of the busy festive period.
While these few clubs have been doing remarkably bad under their previous managers, other clubs have been reaping in the benefits of their wastes. Those clubs doing well have been under threat that they could lose their current managers and are doing everything in their power to hold onto what appears to be each club’s prized possession in these tough times.
Leicester City makes sure with Brendan Rodgers
A team certainly above par and on a major hot streak are the Foxes from King Power Stadium. This has been thanks to the inclusion of Brendan Rodgers late last season.
Since the Northern Irishman was placed at the steering wheel, the team in blue have barely steered off course from their goal and have actually gained some extra miles on a goal probably realistic after a full season with Rodgers.
The Foxes sit in second place in the standings, eight points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and two points ahead of champions Man City. This has given the King Power board the urgency to act fast in trying to keep the ex-Liverpool manager at the club, as well as keep him away from those desperate to gain a new manager.
One of those teams being Arsenal. The Gunners were said to be very interesting in Rodgers coming in but now have to look elsewhere after the contract renewal. The hierarchy at the club begun their contract-extension talks before Arsenal got rid of Unai.
This is the reason they made sure their brilliant boss doesn’t slip through their fingers, and if he does, it will cost another club a pretty penny. Again it must be said, great business by Leicester.

Good move by Leicester
Well played by the club and the manager in charge. They now stay free having to worry about any problems of managers and players wanting to leave. They can concentrate fully on the league run and possible upset of taking the Premier League title.
The vibe of the players, the mood of the fans, the results, and the performances is at its best now since their EPL triumphs. For them… There is no need to break up a happy home and are willing to go with Rodgers all the way to 2025..
