December is here and the Premier League is at the double or nothing stages. The champions Man City are the first to play in this three-horse title race.

It is the start of Midweek madness where football is life and life is football. The weekend’s results has left the Premier League wide open and has the EPL holders chasing their own title as we reach Matchday 15.

Liverpool has a 13-point gap over their title challengers and are closer to being caught by their previous boss Brendan Rodgers with his Leicester City side over Pep and his Citizens. City’s dominance has been distrusted by the rest of the teams in the English league.

The draw to Newcastle was one of many slip-ups by the Spaniard in this time where his squad worth £1 Billion looks as if they not equipped to retain the title for the third consecutive season. Including the weekend’s stumble, Pep has now dropped points in five games of the 14 played.

Pep’s side trailing in third place

Normally the man with the plan makes things happen and the bounce back is commonly strong with a string of good performances. This season it has been far different.

They have already squandered points against four teams outside of the top six. Another loss in the campaign and they would equal last season’s total. This is a huge worry for Pep as the year hasn’t even turned a new age.

On the sidelines and during press conferences you can notice Pep’s frustrations mounting as he unmounts in the title race. Matchday 15 should be where the double EPL winners must apply all the pressure they can when running out first of the lot.

Matchday 15 events involving Man City

Liverpool hosts their bitter neighbours in blue in the Merseyside derby and the Foxes take on a battered Hornets side. Both, on night two of Matchday 15. Rodgers is also on a six-game winning streak while Klopp has seen five EPL games without a loss.

The last Merseyside duel saw Liverpool clinch an extra-time winner in a 1-0 ballgame. It can go anyway because of the intensity in the derby. Leicester claimed a victory in the last meeting between them and Watford out at the King Power Stadium.

However, in the time Rodgers was just appointed as a Fox boss, he lost to Watford 2-1. Chances of points being dropped? Anything can happen in the Premier League but nothing suggests they will get lucky this evening thanks to Watford and Everton.

Man City’s trip to Turf Moor

They go up against a stubborn Burnley side capable of pulling off some ugly shockers in the English league. Sean Dyche side has just seen a loss by the hands of Crystal Palace. This doesn’t show he and his Clarets’ side possess the power to keep piling on the pain for Man City.

They’ve only won one of the last 10 encounters verse their opponents. In other meetings, they have stolen points on three occasions where they shared the spoils but taking their last encounter at Turf Moor into consideration, which saw the home side lose by a narrow 1-0 scoreline, you’d think nothing is stopping Pep from recovering from the weekend’s headache.

The race is still on. This is only because Liverpool have dropped similar leads in the past. The only thing the Manchester side can do is to keep winning and building on the pressure for Liverpool.

Predicted score:
Burnley 0-2 Man City
