Now that Unai Emery has been sacked by Arsenal, let’s take a look at 5 players who can benefit massively from his departure.

One of Unai Emery’s biggest downfalls as Arsenal manager was the way he dealt with his players. This was also an evident flaw during his time at Paris Saint-Germain, where he failed to deal with the ego’s of Neymar, Cavani, and Mbappe effectively, eventually causing him to become a laughing stock amongst his own players and the French media.

His situation at Arsenal has turned almost into Deja Vu of that over the last few months, as reports have surfaced regarding his own players mocking him, either with impressions or over social media. Now, with the Spaniard gone from the Emirates for good, a few players who were being misused and mistreated by Emery will likely find life a little bit easier under Freddie Ljungberg, and whoever comes after:

#5: Joe Willock – Midfield

This list starts out with Joe Willock, who was promoted to the first-team this season at Arsenal, and has been given the chance to shine on a few occasions. While Emery did give Willock some good opportunities in some crucial fixtures, he played a few different positions and never really showed his best qualities. Under Freddie Ljungberg, who coached Willock last season with the Arsenal U23’s, the midfielder could blossom into a guaranteed starter. Expect Willock to be handed a specific role in the team, likely in a similar mould to the one Aaron Ramsey played at the club for a long time, and shine under Ljungberg’s guidance.
