Man City: Are we gearing up for a Kevin de Bruyne Premier League masterpiece
The main man Kevin de Bruyne appears to be back to his best in a Man City shirt. Are we getting ready for another de Bruyne masterpiece?
Pep’s Man City has already dropped points in the title race with Liverpool. They’ve taken a draw against Tottenham (2-2) and a beating against newly promoted, Norwich City (3-2). This has left them with a lot of work to do.
They now sit in second place in the Premier League standings on 16 points, five points behind log leaders Liverpool. The Reds are the only team yet to lose a fixture since the beginning of the EPL campaign.
This has unquestionably made Pep’s job hard in the search for his third consecutive Premier League title. Thankfully there is one player who is taking the fight to Liverpool, knowing that any day they could slip up and winning every match is the only goal now. That player is Kevin de Bruyne.
The midfielder has been at the forefront of every Man City attack. Almost anything that leaves his left or his right foot has turned into goals or a chance created. If you wanted to know how to respond after being injured, while being in and out of fitness for an entire season, and barely making the starting eleven when fully fit, then Kevin de Bruyne’s act is the one to follow.

Kevin was instrumental in the 8-0 piledriving of Watford a couple of weeks back in Matchday 6’s events. It was a heartbreaking reminder to the Hornets of what happened to them in the FA Cup final.
He leads the Premier League with the most assists (8). The next player close to the midfielder master passer is Norwich’s Emiliano Buendia and teammate, David Silva with four to their names. He has already doubled them. Amazing stuff!
This is a blessing for Pep
The chase is on for Pep and his men. It couldn’t have been better timing that the Belgian has hit form and comes to the party for his manager. With him fit, Guardiola can rest assured he has somebody who can unlock any defence in any situation.
As the saying goes, “he is like a new signing for Man City”. And quite frankly, a world-class signing at that. Liverpool’s slip comes around December when the games happen thick and fast. This is where the quality of Pep’s squad and especially Kevin de Bruyne comes into play.
