The Hare and the Tortoise

It’s been a good couple of week for either team to be honest! It’s almost like these 2 extremes of FPL management don’t really work on their own…

Before GW5 the Hare took a 4 point hit to bring in Aguero, Vardy and James for Sterling, Pukki and Callum Wilson, the latter 2 obviously has scored a few goals between them since then! Then this week they bought Son and Abraham, binning Sigurdsson and Vardy after just one game. Giving them 45 and 52, both with a -4!

The Tortoise meanwhile has plodded along with much the same team. There were rumours of the manager looking to offload Sigurdsson (probably will happen this week as Everton fall into poor fixtures and continue to look poor), but no suitable replacement was found, so they’ve made just the one transfer in the last 2 weeks – Wesley in for the injured Deeney.

They even escaped the issues of this weekend despite only holding Sterling from the Man City attack, as the faith in Wood and Callum Wilson paid off, so they hit 47 and 63.

This week the Hare will be going after Bernardo Silva, and the Tortoise might just follow suit if they decide to ditch Zinchenko to free up a Man City spot. But then again they might wait and see if Zinchenko can win back his place this week before throwing him out…

The Top Flight Mini-League

We have a new leader in our mini-league, Maut Ka Nanga Naach was finally toppled, after their Hare-esque strategy (another -8 this week) left them with just 68 and a -8. It could all have been so different with Pieters and Lundstram left on the bench, but as it is they are overtaken by Matthias Mizi and his team The Nazca. Matthias has managed to keep pace with Maut despite not using a single chip, so could be one to watch for the whole season!
