Heading full steam ahead in the English Premier League as we hit Gameweek 7. Same EPL clubs but a far different week to the last.

Last week everyone was questioning if Man City would be in crisis after a woeful defensive display against Norwich.

This was followed by John Stones being ruled out for a month, but a week is a long time in football and things look a little different now. The Champions were rampant to reassert their dominance, although the pressure didn’t get to Liverpool, who maintained their 100% record away at Stamford Bridge.

FPL scores were predictably high because, as long as you didn’t have all your Man City eggs in the Sterling/Zinchenko basket (like I did…) you likely got a couple of double-figure returns. Heavily owned assets like Son, Kane, Aubameyang, Callum Wilson and the Liverpool wing-backs also all returned attacking points.

This week should see plenty more goals as Man City travel to flailing Everton, Chelsea host Brighton and Spurs host Southampton. Liverpool makes an increasingly difficult trip to Sheffield United, while there’s an old school Classico of Man United vs Arsenal on Monday night. Lots more points coming, but who should you pick?

Fixtures

Here are my latest fixture rankings

  • There are some interesting dilemmas here – Norwich are top for defensive potential, but haven’t kept a clean sheet yet and have only kept it down to 1 goal conceded against Newcastle!
  • Meanwhile, Watford are yet to win a match and have scored just 4 goals, but they have the best-attacking fixtures!
  • Short term options look like your best options are Chelsea and Burnley
  • There are good long-term prospects at Arsenal and Leicester
  • Crystal Palace and Southampton, on the other hand, are in for a tough ride!
