The return of football has come and gone and it has done so in spectacular fashion. The opening Premier League fixtures were nothing short of drama, entertainment and controversy.

Almost time for some Premier League action as we gear up for the arrival of Matchday 5. We’ve already been flagged with the first pit stop, the unbearable international break. Yet, with one comes the other, so who’s complaining?

After the inevitable international break (which is nearly complete), it’s not only EPL action we look forward to but it is the return of the Champions League and Europa League. So if the boring international pause is what it takes to have club football back and in full swing, then I think it’s a small price to pay.

The country call allowed for some clubs to hit refresh and recalibrate after dreadful beginnings in their 2019/2020 campaigns. Others, a bit more frustrated as they hit high heights in their first few outings and when the going is good, the good never wants to quit.

The best five Premier League clubs

In this article, The Top Flight has selected the best five clubs out the starting blocks this term. We will start with the fifth-best English club and work our way to the best team after four.

The top five have not been selected only because of wins but because of their projection afore the opening game. The only way a top-six side would make this selection is if they leading the log/unbeaten/they need to have players in the top spots in most goals, most passes, or whatever else.

Here is the power ranking of the top five clubs in the English Premier League.
