Tottenham falls victim to the curse of the international break. New signing and loanee Giovani Lo Celso suffered a hip injury on country duty.

The Spurs lose another new boy, Giovani Lo Celso while on international break in his country’s 0-0 draw to Chile. Thankfully for the North London club, it’s only for a short while that the newly installed midfielder will be sidelined.

The reports go on in saying, he will be out for a couple of months, giving his predicted return date in late October.

"Giovani Lo Celso is unlikely to play for Tottenham Hotspur until the end of October after sustaining a hip injury on international duty (via BBC Sports)."

Is this a loss for Mauricio and Spurs?

Is the man a loss to Pochettino or not? Recently moving over from Real Betis, the Argentine is yet to make a start for Tottenham in the Premier League, though has made three substitutions coming on in the four fixtures played.

September fixtures

Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace (EPL)
Olympiacos vs. Tottenham (UCL)
Leicester City vs. Tottenham (EPL)
Colchester vs. Tottenham (EFL)
Tottenham vs. Southampton (EPL)

Worryingly, this is the first international break and we all know after the first disruption of club football, it goes from 0-200 in the turn of a weekend. It’s the return of the Champions League and domestic cups. This is where the squad gets utilised to its full capacity. Used and abused!

He will be missed as Poch was bleeding him into the team before the break and now must go with another approach to the next couple of months. Spurs play five matches in the next two weeks and then gear up for another five in the follow-up month.

October fixtures

Tottenham vs. Bayern (UCL)
Brighton vs. Tottenham (EPL)
Tottenham vs. Watford (EPL)
Tottenham vs. Crvena Zvezda (UCL)
Liverpool vs. Tottenham (EPL)

Yes he will be missed

The first month shows how important it is to have the full squad available for the manager to select from. Following the busy month of September are three mammoth meetings for the North Londoners. A Champions League run-in with Bayern Munich. Followed by a meeting with Liverpool and this season’s triers, Everton.

Scary but hopefully Spurs must-use eleven can hold out and are fit enough not to lose anymore while showing no fatigue. Wow! Quite the request.

Mauricio is now where he was at the end of last season. All newcomers are out injured. Making it seem as if Tottenham haven’t made any signings for the last three seasons now. Funny the game of football is.
