Pablo Fornals – 5. West Ham made an eye-catching transfer when they acquired Pablo Fornals from Villarreal for £24 million.

Remember the days when Dimitri Payet ruled the iron hearts? Those days are gone and so has Payet.

The fans hoped that Manuel Lanzini would take Payet’s role, but the Argentine’s recurring injuries have disrupted his rise. Fornals could serve to be Payet’s heir. Fornals had a bright season with Villarreal. Despite Villarreal’s substandard 14th place finish in La Liga, Fornals shined throughout the campaign.

Often suited to play behind the striker, Fornals has magnificent dribbling skills. He might not be the quickest players on the pitch but his dribbling skills make up for it. He can thread delicious through balls and can link up well with the striker.

His low centre of gravity makes him a highly effective player and should succeed in the Premier League. He can also play in a wide role offering a lot of options to Manuel Pellegrini. West Ham smashed their transfer record as they signed Sebastien Haller for £45 million.

Haller has immense potential but will need a class attacking midfielder to enhance his play. Fornals and Haller could together set the Premier League on fire.

Fornals must prove his worth and deliver when called upon, with a lot of competition in his position; he needs to make the most of every chance thrown at him.

The Irons have sky-high ambitions, and to fulfil them you need to have a top-notch player and that is what they have in the form of Pablo Fornals.
